How It Works
The process involves removing any remaining teeth, placing 4-6 implants on each arch, and attaching a low-profile bridge to the implants. The precise placement of the implants prevents interference with the sinuses, eliminating the necessity for expensive bone grafts and extended recovery times.
Our dentists in Round Lake have improved the standard All-On-4 procedure by personalizing it to each patient's needs, leading to improved outcomes. We carefully evaluate each case and customize the treatment to fit the patient's anatomy. Each arch will receive four to six implants, with temporary fixed bridges placed during the healing period.
Once the healing process is finished, the final teeth will be crafted from zirconia, a material that is more durable than acrylic denture teeth. Zirconia provides a more natural look, is easy to keep clean, and is resistant to staining, ensuring that the teeth will last longer and look more aesthetically pleasing compared to acrylic/titanium hybrid bridges.
Am I A Candidate?
Numerous patients, even those previously considered unsuitable for dental implants due to lack of bone, may still be able to have the procedure. By strategically placing a mix of straight and angled implants to avoid the sinuses and utilize the strongest bone, the need for expensive and time-consuming sinus augmentation bone grafts can often be avoided. Your dentist will assess if the All-On-4, or "Teeth in a Day," procedure is appropriate for you during a free consultation.
Timeline for All-On-4 Procedure
The procedure usually lasts 4-6 hours, depending on whether you are treating one arch or both. Temporary bridges will be attached to your new implants before you leave our office. These bridges will be worn for 4 months to allow for proper integration of the implants with your bone and healing of your jaws and gums. This healing period is important for ensuring the best fit for your final bridges. Once healing is finished, we will start creating your final bridge(s). This process will require a few appointments over a 5-6 week period, giving you the opportunity to design the smile you desire for your permanent teeth.
