Restore Your Smile with a Custom Dental Bridge
A dental bridge is a permanent dental solution for replacing missing teeth. Unlike removable options, the bridge is securely attached to neighboring teeth, eliminating the need for removal and cleaning. Each bridge is custom-made to look natural and realistic. Fixed bridges can last for many years before needing to be replaced.
Why is a dental bridge necessary?
If you are missing a tooth and want to avoid dental implant surgery or are not a candidate for it, you may want to think about getting a dental bridge as a great alternative. A dental bridge can help restore the look and function of your smile, as well as prevent nearby teeth from moving or becoming overcrowded.
Who qualifies as a candidate for a dental bridge?
Our dental team will assess your teeth to see if a fixed bridge is suitable for you. The bridge will be fitted over two adjacent teeth for a secure and precise fit. Larger bridges may be less stable. If we find that the bridge alone may not provide enough stability, we may suggest using implants for additional support.
What happens during a dental bridge procedure?
To begin the procedure, we will apply a local anesthetic to numb a specific area of your mouth. Following this, we will shape and file down the surrounding teeth to make room for the new fixed bridge. Impressions will be taken to create both a temporary and permanent bridge. Once the shaping and filing is complete, you will leave with the temporary bridge in place. A second appointment will be needed for the permanent bridge installation. During this appointment, the temporary bridge will be removed and the permanent one will be securely placed using dental-grade adhesive. We will then polish the bridge and make any necessary adjustments. You will also receive instructions on how to properly care for the bridge through brushing and flossing to ensure its longevity.
